Today I received an email that said a brother in the Lord may be facing difficulties in his church because he preached a sermon about the truths of the gospel. This only confirmed to me what has been on my mind all week. Something is happening here and I fear we Christians (Born Again Believers) may be still sleeping to smell the coffee. The Church could be heading for difficult times, I don't know - maybe or maybe not. But if this is going to happen, brothers and sisters in the lord, are we ready? We should by no means go out there looking for persecution, but the fact of the matter is we are living in a day and age where if we proclaim the word of God and live a godly life in Christ we will be persecuted.
I thank God that we can not see or know the future, because if I had known the initial responses I would get on my last blog entry, I would not have dared to write it, let alone post it on my blog. I was shocked at what most people today consider Child Abuse. I had no idea this is the world I am living in today. That many people who even call themselves Christians deny the fact that they were born evil and God hating, that from conception they were brought forth in iniquity. This was a wake up call for me, the reality of God hating people has hit me. It hit me so hard that I am now left thinking how long do we Christians have these freedoms that we take for granted today? How long do we Christians have before we could be counting the cost for declaring Jesus Christ as Lord of all and King of Kings?
When I say Christians I do not mean the cults who believe God has a wonderful plan for their lives. I do not mean those who are living their Best Lives Now. I do not mean those who believe that they need The Purpose Driven Life and ask Jesus to come into their hearts and make everything wonderful for them. Those who believe this are not Christians, they are in a deceptive cult and they will by no means face any persecution, because they are doing the will of their father, and the world loves them. I am talking of Christians, the saints of God, who know they were born radically depraved. Those who know they where born without hope, lost and condemned. Those who know they deserve to have the cup of the wrath of God poured on them, those who know they are worthless sinners. These are the true Christians. Who have now been washed by the blood of Christ. Who came to the foot of the cross, undeserving of forgiveness but they have found mercy. Those who seek the Glory of God not that of men. Those who see the love they have for their own family as hatred compared to the love they have for God. These are the called of God. Who are not seeking a Best Life Now, but have a hope for the coming glory.
Christians are praying for a great revival, a great move of God among the nations, but we could be sleeping to even see the great revival. Let us proclaim the name of God whilst we still can, lets us declare His deeds among the people. Let us seek His Glory not our own. Let us exalt His Holy name to the point that those who are lost will know that they are lost, and seek forgiveness for their wickedness. Christians let us wake up and be renewed by the Spirit of God, we may not have long to enjoy the freedom of not only being called a Christian, but the freedom of living the Christian life as well.
